Billet heating is an important process in the production of wire rod,heating quality directly determines the quality of the finished wire.”Black-mark” is a prevailing phenomenon in the billet heating process,it is harmful to the stability of rolling process, the rolling mill and the performance of finished product etc,so we should improve or eliminate it as far as possible.This paper put forward the scheme that overturning-billet type heating furnace.By using FEM software-ANSYS,take a high speed wire rod mill heating furnace based,choose the billet and water-cooled slider as the research object,establish the three-dimensional finite element model of billet in heating furnace.In order to verify the effect that overturning-billet type heating furnace in improvement of “black-mark”,simulate the heating process of billet in traditional pusher type heating furnace and walking beam heating furnace,and simulate the heating process of overturning-billet in pusher heating furnace and walking-beam heating furnace.Get the temperature field and node temperature change curve of billet in above conditions.Comparative analysis the “black-mark” temperature difference of billet in traditional type and overturning-billet type heating furnace.The simulation results show that when the overturning-billet was heated in pusher heating furnace and walking-beam heating furnace,the black-mark can not be eliminated completely.
