Converter steel-making is the most important process and the output of steel slag is 800 million tons a year by 100-150kg per ton of steel. Steel slag as one of industrial waste took up large quantities of land resources, and caused water and air pollution. The recycling of steel slag can not only protect the environment, but also make use of natural resources effectively and promote utilization ratio of resources.The methods of steel slag treatment consist of self-slaking process by heat-stewed and graining process of a steel plant in Shandong Province. Vapor slake the expansibility of steel slag during heat-stewed, and the temperature of slag is slowdown. The procedures of graining process consist of screening, breaking, dressing by magnetic separation. The research purpose of this paper is to look for the reasonable method of reusing the steel slag comprehensively through the experiment, and then solve the pollution problem.1. Vapor diffusing in the plant reject the operating line of sight that cause incipient fault of safety, winter in particular. Vapor in the plant contain basic dust what erode the plant and harm to the operator. In view of the above problems this paper studies vapor during heat-stewed exhale to the sluiceway as depression house, which accelerate the settlement of dust in vapor and the coagulating of vapor.2.New water should be added because the vapor straying away, what waste the water resources. The programme of waste heat utilization is discussed in this paper, which settle the problem of vapor diffusing and heat waste. This programme is realized through modifying the existing heat-stewed pit which is easy to do and low invest. The waste heat is used to be resident’s heating which settle the problems of resident’s coal-fired, environmental protection and obtain additional income for corporation.3.Extracted ratio of magnetic substance is low, and the grain size of non-magnetic substance after magnetic separation is not adaptable to the require of the next procedure, and the iron content of non-magnetic substance after magnetic separation is not adaptable to the require of the next procedure. This paper also studies the optimizations of graining process, as the several procedures which realize the purpose of invest reduction, floor area decrease and maintenance shortening.
