With the improvement of people’s living conditions, we pay more and more attention to the commercial processing of eggs. Quality inspection and grading of eggs are the essential procedures for the egg automatic and scale processing, and the weight of the egg is a major indicator. In this research, we designed a control system for egg dynamic weighing and grading based on Digital Signal Processor (DSP) with an accuracy range from -1.5 to 1.5g when the processing rate is five eggs per second. The main contents and results of this research are summarized as follows:(1) The mechanical structure of the egg dynamic weighing equipment has a significant influence on the weighing accuracy. We designed a new online dynamic weighing equipment for egg with high versatility.(2) We develop the system hardware circuit which is mainly consisted of signal procession module, AD module, communication interface circuit, electromagnet drive circuit and DSP controller. And we design the system software including collection and processing of weighing signals, synchronously tracking of the eggs’positions, the egg grading control algorithm and the user interface.(3) The experiment results shows that the forth-order Butterworth low-pass filter with a cut-off frequency of 20 Hz can remove the high frequency noises mixed in the egg dynamic weighing signal effectively.(4) We compared the accuracy and discrete distribution of the weighing results using arithmetic average filter and median value mean filter in different processing speeds. The experimental results showed that the weighing results of arithmetic average filter is better than the median value mean filter in all the processing speeds.
