PRB (permeable Reactive Barriers) is to set up a reaction medium barrier zones with active material in the water and soil pollution filled. When polluted groundwater through the reaction barrier, pollutant through the media relying on natural water transportDissolved organics, metals, radionuclides and other pollutants were degradated, adsorpted, precipitated, or removed.It has broad application prospects in the remediation of groundwater contamination.This paper took Binzhou garbage treatment plants for example. It tested on remediation of underwater polluted by landfill leachate by PRB technology in laboratory with activated carbon, zeolites, zero valent and these mixtures of iron reaction medium to.It studyed the factors affecting the treatment effect,and gained the optimum reaction conditions by orthogonal experiments.It concluded the following conclusions.When the polluted groundwater was treated with single media,It concluded that activated carbon for COD treatment effect is best,and zeolite was worst. Several particle size of zero-valent iron for COD treatment effect lies between the above two kinds of medium,and the iron powder particle size was smaller,the treatment effect was better. Zeolite for treatment effect of ammonia nitrogen was best,activated carbon for treatment effect of ammonia nitrogen was second,and zero-valent iron was relatively poor.Acidic conditions was conducive to the COD treatment, and the COD treatment effect was poorer in basic conditions. The basic conditions was conducive to removal of ammonia nitrogen. We should considered COD, ammonia nitrogen and other pollutants and Choose the best pH value.Within six days of the orthogonal experiment, activated carbon content had highly significant influence on the removal of COD.The interaction of activated carbon and zero-valent iron and zero-valent iron particle size both had significant influence on the removal of COD.Zero-valent iron content,reaction time and pollutant initial concentration had unsignificant influence on the removal of COD.Through the variance analysis and experimental verification,the best reaction conditions concluded activated carbon content of 40%,zero-valent iron content of 20% and zero-valent iron particle size of 120.The removal rate of COD On the sixth daycould reach to 80.3%.
