In "Thirteen five" national planning blueprint, the traditional mold industry is facing enormous challenges to accomplish industry 4.0. Traditional mold industry urgent need to upgrade, small-sized precision molds as a representative of mold industry standards, it’s design and manufacturing capacity of improvement has attracted numerous attention of developers. Over the past decade, the promotion of CAD/CAE technology contribute to the development of plastic precision molds, which provides a fast and effective method to upgrade plastic mold industry. Compared to the traditional model, it can provide small-sized precision mould enterprises a fast, accurate, scientific mold design development system. CAD/CAE technology can predict injection molding defects, quickly determine the molding process parameters, optimization of mold design and structure, which showed great advantage. This development model could avoid repetitive mold modification, tedious arguments commissioning work, reduce mold development cycle and create huge economic benefits for the enterprise.This study relies on production background, using CAE software Moldflow to analyses the best gate location for cell phone case, and created three gating system. According to analyses the plastic melt temperature changes and its stress distribution and injection molding defects, it aim to get the gating system and cooling system design solution. On this basis, by using CAD software UG completed mobile phone shell injection mold the overall design, including:gating system design, cooling system design, molded parts design, mold release mechanism design, the ejection mechanism design. In addition, the process parameters combination has been optimized by designing orthogonal experiment and BP neural network. This optimized method take continual small increment to select globally optimal solution and get optimum combination of parameters.Through the above study, it provides manufacturers with a scientific solution to design and develop the mobile phone shell injection mold, and shorten the development cycle of the mold. By optimizing the injection molding process parameters to reduce the amount of warpage of plastic parts and enhance the capability of determine the injection molding process parameters quickly.
