Coal spontaneous combustion is one of the major disasters threat of coal mine safety production. Strengthen the study on the mechanism of coal spontaneous combustion, coal spontaneous combustion gases and coal spontaneous combustion prediction, to provide theory and technology for prevention and control coal spontaneous combustion, and there is of great significance for the sustainable development of coal industry in our country.Based on the research methods of combination of the theoretical analysis, field investigation and laboratory simulation experiment, and according to the theory of coal interaction with oxygen, heat and mass transfer theory, coal spontaneous combustion index gases detection, the mechanism of coal spontaneous combustion and the development phase and process, influence factors, tendency and iconic gas of coal spontaneous combustion were studied. Firstly, to investigate and survey FenXi Ruitai mine of Zhengming Coal co., LTD, to collect the coal sample, then do coal spontaneous combustion simulation experiment in the laboratory, through the analysis of the relationship between the gas and coal spontaneous combustion, we make sure that the state of coal spontaneous combustion can be infer according to the iconic gas and the coal spontaneous combustion can be forecast:(1) The CO is as the iconic gas of the initial stage of coal spontaneous combustion;(2) Methane and ethane concurrently exist at the coal of No.2 coal seam at room temperature, and along with the change of temperature after 70 ℃ the concentration of change trends of the two kinds of gases is same, so ethane can be as trademark gas of No.2 coal seam;(3) Methane and ethane concurrently exist at the coal of No.3 coal seam at room temperature,and the trends is same between 40℃ ~ 80℃, propane generated at 70℃, hexane generated at 100℃ and pentane generated at 120℃, so hexane and pentane can be used as gas iconic of No.2 coal seam;(4) The trends change of alkanes is different along with the positions of No.4 coal seam: at room temperature methane and ethane of coal sample from working face concurrently exist, and the change trend along with temperature is same; butane generated between 30℃~40℃ and 80℃~120℃; propane and pentane appears at 70℃, and pentane still exist up to 80℃; methane and ethane from face collapse column coal sample exist at the same time under normal temperature, As the temperature increases the change trend of CH4 and C2H6 is almost same, but the trend delayed in early 120℃; propane generated at 70℃, pentane generated between 80℃~130℃, butene generated at 90℃, therefore, the propane and pentane can be as gas iconic of No.3 coal seam;(5) The time of oxidation of coal chaged along with the length of exposure time in the air, at the same time it was effected by collapse column, long-term exposured to the air, the oxidation time of coal in the early phaseis is longer,The surface of coal body in roadway is regularly scanned by intrinsic safety thermal imager and infrared thermometer, to moniter the site of abnormal temperature. As a result,we make sure that coal spontaneous combustion mostly occur in the geological structure and the site of abnormal temperature mainly occur inType at the same time at the scene of the coal mine is used in the infrared thermal imager and infrared thermometer to regular scanning of coal roadway surface, to monitor temperature anomaly point, determined the coal spontaneous combustion occurred mainly in, coal body temperature anomaly point mainly in the sides between intake airway and ventilation roadway.
