With the rapid development of machinery equipment industry in China, double disc grinder is attracting more and more attention by the machine tool industry enterprises. Many large and medium-sized machine tool companies put a lot of manpower, material and financial resources to research and development of vertical double-disc grinder. Due to the domestic vertical double disc grinder is still limited to the rough grinding and semi-fine grinding, it is urgent to develop a high efficiency and high precision CNC vertical double disc grinding machine. Therefore, this article made a deeply and systematically investigation of the high-precision double-disc grinder from the theoretical research, structural design, finite element analysis, etc.The main research contents of this paper are as follows:1. The vertical double surface grinding principle and processing principle errors are analyzed, which can theoretically ensure the machining accuracy. Depending on the design parameters of the machine tool, the overall design scheme of the vertical double disc grinder is determined and introduced the key components detailedly.2. Determined the position and journey of grinding spindle components. The two part structure design scheme of grinding spindle assembly were proposed, then the structure design scheme of grinding head with sleeve movable part was chosen finally.Made the design and calculating for spline drive and belt drive, verified stiffness and fatigue life of the bearing,analyzed the stress situation of main shaft. Analyzed the static and dynamic performance of the main shaft by the Workbench ANSYS software,and the rationality of the design was verified. In order to eliminate the transmission gap of the ball screw, the double ball screw nut is designed. Realizing the micro feed of 1 microns, the angle of the rotation of the servo motor is calculated.3. Theoretically researched on the wheel straight dressing method of double disc grinding, then the optimal dressing parameters for fixed dressing and interpolating dressing are respectively determined. Obtaining the ideal geometry of the grinding wheel in the grinding area, so that the workpiece in a grinding process can complete rough grinding, semi finishing, polishing, polishing process. Thereby improving the processing accuracy and stability, reducing the surface roughness of workpiece. The3 D model of grinding wheel dressing parts was established, and the stiffness and strength of the grinding wheel dressing parts were analyzed by the finite elementsoftware to verify the rationality of the structure.4. The overall structure design of the feed components is presented. The design of the feed plate, the limit of the import and export pressure plate is introduced. The model and parameters of the reducer and the feed servo motor are determined.Introduced the main structure of machine tool bed, and analyzed the strength and stiffness of the bed by ANSYS software. Designed of the box angle adjustment device and calculated the size of the adjustment, which can provide theoretical guidance for the practical application. Checked the strength of the thread connection in the angle adjustment device to ensure the safety of the machine design. For bearing ring grinding difficult to achieve automatic loading and unloading problem, design a ring bearing automatic loading and unloading device, improve processing efficiency and market competitiveness of the machine.
