With the development of chemical process and the wide using of computer technology,the process of chemical production is becoming more and more sophisticated and complex.Also,the production system turns to be more large-scaled,intelligent and informationalized.As a result,higher operating skills and more experience are necessary to the employees in enterprise.Meanwhile,how to improve the operational capabilities of their students is urgent for colleges,which now rely on simple experimental devices and normal chemical simulation systems.Neither the students could have a comprehensive understanding of chemical production process,nor have a good training effect,while,the chemical production enterprises will not allow students to operate to operate their production site for the reason of safety and interests.In the view of the present situation of personnel training in chemical industry,This article targets on the research and design of coal-methanol simulation training system based on vi rtual reality,which focus on the object of 600,000 tons of coal-methanol production,and combine virtual reality technology and chemical process simulation technology together.This study contains the architecture of simulation training system,the modeling of the chemical process,the construction of virtual scene,the monitoring of the process and communication and so on.In this article,firstly we studied and introduced the overall structure and the software architecture of the virtual reality coal-methanol simulation training system,and also elaborated the function of each module which built up the system.Secondly,based on the basic principles and methods of chemical process model,we researched on t he construction of chemical process dynamic simulation model by using the major equipment in the production synthesis section of coal-methanol.Then we developed the communication in the subsystem.Finally we accomplished to improve virtual scene of the production of coal-to-methanol and the design of DCS system.The virtual reality coal-methanol simulation training system researched in this article lead the simulation system to leap from 2D to 3D,which will inevitably bring a good training effect and application value.
