The 4# mining coal seams of Hujiahe Coal Mine, which have high gas content, are prone to spontaneous combustion with serious hazards. Selecting Hujiahe Coal Mine as the research object, this paper systematically researched the fire prevention and control technology by means of laboratory experiment, field test, theoretical analysis and on-site applications. With the oxidation kinetics measuring method of coal spontaneous combustion tendency, the index was obtained and the 4# mining coal was classified as “type I”,which belongs to easily spontaneous combustion seam. By detecting the indicator gases of predicting coal spontaneous combustion, we choosed CO as the main indicator and C2H4-C2H2 as supplementary indicators for early forecast of the coal self-ignition. According to the relative theoretical system of the “three zones” in goaf of spontaneous combustion of coal, we determined the distribution of “three zones” in the mining working face based on the bundle tube monitoring system and gas analysis system. Combined with the practical mining in working face and the roof caving process, we also predicted the dangerous districts of the spontaneous ignition at workface and determined the minimum impel speed of working face was 4.1m/d, which provide basis for fire-prevention supervision of the mining face. According to the fundament research achievements above and combining the mine conditions, we designed comprehensive fire-prevention schemes in the coal face, and proposed methods of combining injecting slurry, nitrogen, three-phase foam or silicate gel and mist retarder technology. The construction conditions, scheme and technical parameters were also determined.
