Three-dimensional digital design and manufacturing technology based on MBD (Model-based Definition) technology is not only a new academic classification of the aerospacemanufacturing field, but also the future development trend of modern manufacturing. In theprocess of promoting research and application on three-dimensional design andmanufacturing technology, from the point of manufacturing view, there are many difficultiesincluding how to take full advantage of the characteristics of the integrity with thethree-dimensional model information to support processing, testing and other processes, howto improve the efficiency and quality of product designing, and how to ensure the consistencyof product technology in the process of developing state. As soon as possible to establish thedigital design and manufacturing solutions and applications based on a full3d model, thereality demand urgently.Firstly, in this paper the research background of MBD technology is investigated. In themeantime the status and the meaning of MBD technology are analyzed. According to theDigital Product Definition Data Generality, this paper analyzes the main models ofthree-dimensional and three-dimensional model definition to define the methods and rules,and then the typical parts of the wallboard is built. Research and analysis of model-basedMBD technology in the visualization between different platforms is conducted.Secondly, the full three-dimensional parts’ process design based on MBD technology arestudied and analyzed. The pattern requirements are based on MBD technology, and designdepartments provide the only source of MBD model as the basis to complete the MBD modeldesign. Making full use of3d means to express the processing and manufacturinginformation, the process design knowledge can be visually expressed on the3d model. Thenthis paper makes research and analysis about the process and characteristics of3d processing,and makes3d processing for wallboard.This paper conducts a demand analysis about CAD systems and browsers PMI, andstudies its drive manufacturing process. Through the PMI research and analysis, this papercomes up with an idea about related relationship with a model which ensures to completely capture design intent, and it is no longer necessary to derive and interpret design intentaccording to the two-dimensional information. The visualization of PMI is studied andanalyzed, and PMI annotations are marked on the wallboard.Finally, this paper makes the PMI secondary development based on UG NX platform toachieve its characteristic identification on three-dimensional wallboard model, to extractprocessing characteristics information of the wallboard model, and to reduce human featureselection which brings big repeating operational problems.
