In recent years, as environmental pollution and energy crisis is becoming more andmore serious, wind power more and more get the attention of the countries all over theworld, installed capacity of wind farm has the rising trend. However, how to selectsuitable wind farm site, calculation penetration capacity of grid-connected wind farm andevaluate schemes of grid-connected wind farm grid reasonably become problems at thisstage to be solved urgently. As is known to all, power of the wind turbine generatorsclosely related to the distribution of wind energy resources. so, selecting wind farm site isindispensable step in the process of wind farm planning. Due to wind power affected bywind speed and direction, and wind are volatile and unpredictable, lead to the wind poweralso with stochastic volatility. so the wind farm connected to grid will affect the staticsecurity and stability of power grid and power quality, it is also the important reason ofpenetration capacity of grid-connected wind farm. In conclusion, the selection of the windfarm site and the calculation penetration capacity of grid-connected wind farm is veryimportant to the determination of wind farm planning.Topic from the research of power systems which contain wind farms power flowcalculation, analysis the advantages and disadvantages of various calculation methods,finally use the combined iteration method as a system power flow calculation method.This method calculate the reactive power of wind farm by wind power active power andthe node voltage to solve, so the results more accurate than the method of conventional PQmodel, at the same time, fixing the wind farm node reactive power increment partialderivative to the voltage in Jacobi matrix, reducing the number of iterations and makingthe program convergence fast.By average wind power density, the effective wind power density and indicators suchas wind power available hours throughout the year to evaluate wind energy resourcescondition of wind observation point, and then select the wind farm macro site. On thebasis of macro address wind farms have confirmed to calculate penetration capacity ofwind farm. In this paper, by improving the method of selection, crossover and mutation and optimizing crossover operator and mutation operator of the existed basic geneticalgorithm, making the accuracy of the algorithm higher and the better of convergence.Using the improved genetic algorithm, calculate penetration capacity of wind farm basedon the grid static security constraints, considering the stochastic volatility and wake effectof wind power in the process of solving.Respectively by using single index and comprehensive index to investigate theperformance of the wind power with wind farm, select the optimal scheme of wind farmplanning,and evaluate the economy and reliability of scheme. At last, through parts ofYunnan power grid for example analysis and validated the research content in this paper.
