Study On The Whole Process Of Construction Project Cost Management Based On BIM

In recent years, with the gradual development and perfection of the marketeconomy system in our country, the construction cost of labor, materials, machineryprices continue to rise, the huge energy resources cost was no longer conform to therequirements of the strategy of sustainable development, construction project costmanagement is faced with huge impact, in addition, the current construction project costmanagement system and mechanism is not good enough, meanwhile, the problems ofout of time engineering cost management methods, low level informationization and thelack of the systematic concept of whole process cost management, etc, which lead to thelow efficient cost management practices, the phenomenon of project cost out of controlwas happened in China frequently. Building Information Modeling (BIM) as a moderninformation technology platform which can be implemented by creating and using thedigital model for construction engineering design, construction and operationmanagement, with its integration, intelligence, digital and model Information relevance,etc, create an easy communication of information sharing platform for all partiesinvolved in the construction project. In theory, the application of the BIM technology inthe whole process of construction project cost management can effectively improve theefficiency of cost management work in each stage, at the same time, it can make theparties of the construction collaborate more effectively and reduce obstacles exsiting intheir information communication, achieve full coordination and cooperation in eachstage and each party of the cost management work, therefore, these efforts promote thewhole process of construction project cost management develop systematically,comprehensively, efficiently and effectively.This thesis analyzes the suitability of the BIM technology application in the wholeprocess of construction project cost management, based on the analysis of the problemsexisting in domestic current construction project in the practice, puts forward the viewof the whole process of construction project cost management based on BIM; Thisthesis expounds the value, advantages and characteristics of BIM in the whole processof construction project cost management, analyze the changes of the constructionproject procurement model, the whole process of construction project cost managementwork mode and organization structure after the introduction of BIM; On this basis, this thesis conducted a focused study on the specific application situation of BIM in eachstage of the whole process of construction project cost management, and the potentialchanges which may be resulted, for BIM technology applied in the whole process ofdomestic construction project cost management may encounter obstacles and problemsare analyzed, and put forward the relevant strategies and suggestions to solve theseobstacles and problems.
