Metallic doors and windows industry is becoming more and more matured andstandardized,which is booming with the rapid expansion of the construction industry.Asthe market competition intensifies, the efficiency in the design of traditional metallicdoors and Windows becomes the bottleneck which is restricting the rapid developmentof product.It’s an urgent problem to achieve not only the high efficiency in productdevelopment,but also a mature and reliable product design.Aimed at this situation,thepaper explored and researched the technologies of metallic doors and windows designsystem based onstructural similarity.First,we summarized the characteristics and status of the design and managementsystem of the existing metallic doors and windows including the correspondence systemhome and abroad. On this basis, by analysing the advantages and disadvantages oftraditional window design method and case-based reasoning design method,weproposed a overall solution of metallic doors and windows design system based onCBR.In the meantime,we introduced its working principle and process.Then,we studied the key technologies of metallic doors and windows designsystem based on CBR deeply,including the expression of the cases’ structure, theretrieval and matching of the case,case reusing and the design and maintenance of thecase database.We analyzed the content and structure of metallic doors and windowscases and proposed the multiple-knowledge expressing method which containsobject-oriented method and frame-oriented method to discribe the structure of metallicdoors and windows.After analyzed the typical matching and retrieval method,we putforward a structurel matching method which is similarity matching and a retrievalmethod which called nearest neighbor index method.We alse proposed a structuralmethod of metallic doors and windows by summarized the structure characteristics. Inthis condition where we mastered the structure characteristics of database and thedesign features of doors and windows,the differential storage strategies and the casedatabase which possesses a hierarchical tree structure organization which contains threelayers is put forward.Finally, on the basis of studing the key technologies,we develop the metallic doorsand windows design system based onstructural similarity and show the interface andcases of the system.Its application effectively improves the design efficiency and saves the time of metallic doors and windows design,Simultaneously,it gets the continuity andreliability of the new design of the program,a chieving a good application effect.weanalyzed the content and structure of the metallic doors and windows cases.
