In twenty-first Century, including shopping mall, a variety of retail forms with the sameperiod rapid development, the shopping mall due to the lack of the retail experience,development and design tends always copy the successful model of foreign. However, thepresent situation of our country our country’s social, economic status and the shopping malldetermines the design pattern of foreign can not adapt to domestic consumers. This paper triesto put forward the design method with space of Chinese consumer behavior psychologicalmodel, has been to stimulate consumer consumption, provides a new idea for the design ofshopping mall.The design of urban shopping mall, contains the design in many aspects, containingcommercial design, architectural design, interior design and traffic design, but also design andresearch based on different theories. In view of China consumer behavior has its universalityand particularity, consumer behavior related scholars of domestic consumption of the massesand consumption psychological theory more mature. This paper attempts to consumerbehavior and mental model as the theoretical foundation, space design method of urbanshopping mall to explore. This paper summarized the existing research on consumer behaviorand mental models, combined with the results of theoretical research on environmental designexample, Guangzhou Tianhe District three big shopping mall and analysis conducted fieldresearch on the case, the major urban shopping mall space of four elements: the designmethod of entrance, atrium, corridor, the line is summarized, put forward the space designmethod of consumer behavior and psychological mode.
