Study On Project Management Of Conservation Of Great Ruins

During recent years, the appeal for protection of large sites is rising from various sectorsof our country. And the protection of large sites has stepped up as the measurement on theheight of city’s historical and cultural level. As a result, the government has delivered moreand more input into the large sites protection projects and has launched “The EleventhFive-year Plan on Protection of Large Sites” together with a series of substantial protectiondemonstration projects. At present, antique sector of our country has formed relatively maturedprotection concepts and reliable construction skills and methods, which has laid a solidfoundation for the final achievement of large sites protection. With the increasing number ofthe large sites protection projects in our country, the requirements for construction skills andmanagement levels are higher and higher. Since construction project management is acting asthe key process for large sites protection projects, and is directly determining whether theprotection project itself can be completed smoothly. Therefore, it is of great significance toexplore and research on the construction management for large sites protection projects.With references to related books and literatures, this paper first briefly describes therelated theories on large sites protection; then through analysis on the typical cases on thisaspect from both home and abroad, it draws the successful experiences and points out theexisting issues for the large sites protection in our country. Meanwhile, this paper providesintroduction to the historical background and current status for the Site of Nanyue KingdomPalace. Furthermore, by outlining the construction process of the protection project for the Siteof Nanyue Kingdom Palace, it performs further discussion on the construction principles andconstruction skills. In addition, with combination of practical construction sample, this paperanalyzes the protection project for the Site of Nanyue Kingdom Palace from the perspective ofrisk management. And by illustrating the emphasis of risk management in terms of foundationpit safety, flood damage, refilling construction and other aspects, it summarizes the riskmanagement measures. At last, through expounding a series of difficulties in constructionquality management, this paper has the approaches as for how to promote total qualitymanagement from four aspects, including comprehensive human resources management,construction standardization management, project measurement works as well asinformatization for the whole process, and finally it comes up with approaches and methods ontotal quality management.Great sites protection is long-term work, which is carrying essential practical meaning toresearch on project management. This paper has purposed some opinions regarding risk management and quality management of large sites protections so as to provide sample casereferences to construction management personnel as well as to promote the concept of riskmanagement and quality management for large sites protection projects.
