| High-speed permanent magnet motor has many advantages, for example simplestructure, high efficiency, high reliability. On many occasions, it can improve systemefficiency and power density by remove mechanical control devices. The high-speedpermanent magnet motor is used more and more widely in the field of DistributedGeneration, High-Speed Drive and Mechanical Energy Storage Device. Due to theoperating frequency of high-speed is much higher than traditional motor, the ironlosses of high-speed is more bigger than traditional motor, and temperature rise ofhigh-speed is different from traditional motor. It is particularly important forhigh-speed design to calculate the iron loss accurately and design ventilationreasonably. This paper analyzes several iron loss methods of high-speed motor, andcontrasts their advantages and disadvantages.Frist of all, several iron loss models are summarized and introduced. From themotor types, there has both traditional motor iron loss calculation model andhigh-speed motor iron loss calculation model. From the power waveform, these hasboth sine waveform iron loss calculation model and arbitrary waveforms iron losscalculation. From the magnetization conditions, there are iron loss calculation modelswhich only considered alternating magnetization, but also there are other iron losscalculation models which taking into account alternating magnetization and rotationmagnetization.Secondly, the principles of finite element analysis (FEA) of electromagnetic fieldis detailled. Solving partial differential equation will be converted to partialdifferential algebraic equation by finite element analysis. Thereby simplifying thecalculation process. The finite element analysis calculation of electromagnetic fieldsis given, and summarizes the finite element analysis calculation steps.Finally, a high-speed permanent magnet generator for a finite element modelsimulation of the performance of the motor and the internal magnetic field of themotor. The finite element model of one high-spped permanent generator is founded, analyses the performance and magnetic field of the high-speed permanent throughsimulation. Calculate the iron loss of the high-speed with different iron losscalculation models, The computing results are compared with actual measurement andfinite element value. According to the calculation error, analyses the applicability ofthese calculation models. |
