As an important territory between urban and rural areas,low-grade highway through town and village takes on the dual-functions of internal and transit traffic,whereas it the problems of complicated traffic composition,weak infrastructure and so on.With the advance of the motorization process,this area has gradually become the hardest hit area of traffic safety.Due to the weak awareness of traffic safety,traffic accidents happened because of random crossing occur frequently.However,there is still a lack of attention to pedestrian traffic in rural areas in our country.Therefore,the pedestrian crossing behavior study and launch a setting method of crossing facilities both play an essential impact on applying to the low-grade highway.First of all,the characteristics of road traffic and pedestrian crossing behavior in the low-grade highway are analyzed with the historical pedestrian accident data,which clarifies the importance of enhancing traffic safety.Secondly,the relative indicators of pedestrian crossing are analyzed on the basis of the questionnaire and video data obtained from field investigation.Using mathematical statistics method,the average speed and the level of pedestrian crossing delay are calculated,which establish an binomial logistic models of pedestrian crossing behavior.Thirdly,the influencing factors of pedestrian crossing facilities are discussed through analyzing the applicability of pedestrian crossing facilities.Combined those factors mentioned above with the research data,as well as existing literature,the minimum spacing of street facilities in low-grade highway were work out Finally,the corresponding setting methods for the pedestrian crossing facilities are put forward for the three dimension of the service level of pedestrian crossing,the safety of crossing and the protection of special groups.Last but not least,one segment of LianZhi Road was taken as a case of applying the pedestrian crossing facilities setting methods proposed in this paper.
