Research On The Evolution Of Foreign Design In Shenzhen

China’s rapid urbanization has brought a lot of requirements about theplanning and design of urban land and the space form. But the experience,theory of technology and workforce etc of domestic is difficult to meet thedemand of the huge number of construction. So many foreign architects,planners, and design institutions come to China to look for opportunities. Atthe same time, China also provides policy protection to the rapid developmentof foreign design since China’s accession to WTO. Foreign design companieshave developed for nearly20years in China. In this process, the technicalstrength, theoretical basis and value orientation all affect the development ofurban planning industry in our country. The practice of Shenzhen is moreforward-looking and innovative in foreign design. This paper hopes thatreviewing and combing the development process of foreign design inShenzhen to summarize the evolution characteristics and experience of foreigndesign. In this way can make us realize the characteristics and problems offoreign design, help us to actively participate in international communicationand competition, and use more rational thinking on choosing the foreignplanning agency.On the basis of previous studies, the thesis has arranged the overalldevelopment history and characteristics of the foreign design in Shenzhen,then refined three main stages of the foreign design development, andsummarized important planning projects in chronological order. Combiningwith case analysis through the three aspects as planning objectives, planningspace organization, and planning technology，this subject analyzed the resultsof overseas planning features, evaluated the effectiveness present situation ofoverseas planning, and summarized the characteristics of the evolution ofoverseas planning. Through the summary of characteristics of the status quo, itgeted the evolution characteristics of the organization and practice of theforeign design in Shenzhen. It further summarized experience and significanceof the foreign design in Shenzhen. At the same time, it put forward theimplementation suggestions of concrete operation about the organization modeof international consultation, the relevant system and the government guidance.At last it analyzed and forecast the trend of the future development of theforeign design. This research hoped the domestic units should eliminate theopposition between domestic and abroad and promote cooperation andcommunication.
