In recent years,the traditional automobile industry has ushered in new opportunities and changes,with the characteristics of interconnection,electrification and intelligence.As one of the ten important industries of made in China 2025,new energy vehicle industry not only promotes China’s energy conservation and emission reduction,industrial upgrading and ecological civilization,but also represents the development trend of the world’s automobile industry in the future.Although the development history of China’s new energy vehicles is relatively short,many domestic independent brand vehicle enterprises have started the process of internationalization,taking the lead in laying out the European and American markets and seeking further expansion of overseas markets,which has cultivated new momentum for the growth of China’s exports.Typical new energy vehicle enterprises that realize international operation include BYD,Geely,JAC,BAIC,SAIC and Chang’an.They have the advantages of global industrial chain layout such as product R & D,quality certification and power battery in international competition.Based on the above background,taking BYD new energy vehicles as a research case,this paper analyzes the internationalization motivation of Chinese new energy vehicle enterprises,studies its international development model,analyzes the international business performance of BYD new energy vehicles through financial indicators,summarizes the problems faced in the internationalization process,and gives corresponding strategic suggestions.This has important reference value and practical significance for Chinese new energy vehicle enterprises to further enhance their international market competitiveness and explore a broader international market.The research results show that:(1)the internationalization motivation of Chinese new energy vehicle enterprises is divided into their own internal motivation and the external motivation of domestic and foreign markets.The internal motivation includes market seeking,natural resource seeking,low-cost seeking,strategic asset seeking and capital seeking.The external motivation includes domestic industrial background,foreign industrial background and national policies.The internationalization motivation of BYD new energy vehicle enterprises is broad market,high profits and advanced technology.(2)The internationalization mode of Chinese new energy vehicle enterprises is divided into trade entry mode(direct export,indirect export),contract entry mode(franchise,license,etc.),investment entry mode(M & A,new construction)and strategic alliance.The internationalization mode of BYD new energy vehicle enterprises presents various characteristics,and different modes are implemented in different regions: the American market is the factory building mode,the European market is the parallel mode of alliance and factory building,and the Asia Pacific market is the direct export mode.China’s new energy vehicle enterprises should strengthen industrial exchanges and improve the level of R & D technology;Improve the corresponding supporting infrastructure of new energy vehicles(such as charging piles)and speed up the industrialization process;Pay attention to the training of technicians and strengthen their technical level;Enhance brand awareness and build a competitive global brand.
