With the rapid development of China’s railway, we also put forward higherrequirements for the quality of railway line, and the tamping machine is one of themost important equipment of railway maintenance. So, accurately holding the healt hstatus of tamping machine and its equipment state based on real-time maintenance isthe prerequisite and guarantee of railway maintenance which can be proceed normally.Evaluation on equipment status of tamping machine is a key part in the process of itscondition based maintenance (CBM), which not only used as the basis of equipmenthealth status, but also the premise of maintenance strategy. At the present stage,although the theory of status evaluation on equipment has developed into a relativelymature stage, but evaluation on equipment status of tamping machine in China isalmost completed by workers on the scene, which didn’t make good use of the existinginformation resources and technology.In order to evaluate the health status of equipment for railway tamping machine,the selection of comprehensive performance parameters for tamping machine wasemphasize analyzed, the comprehensive evaluation index system of equipment statusfor tamping machine was established and a comprehensive evaluation model ofequipment status for tamping machine which based on the Fuzzy theory and theAnalytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was proposed in this paper. In this model, a nimproved AHP was taken to determine the weight coefficient of each index and theFuzzy theory was adopted to evaluate status of equipment, centesimal system wasused to quantify the results of the comprehensive evaluation. The model was appliedto the comprehensive evaluation on equipment status of08-32tamping machine, theaccurate evaluation results of equipment status was obtained; the improved AHPmethod, which compared with the traditional AHP method, was possessed of fasterand less errors, so the efficiency and effectiveness of evaluation was improved.Finally, in this paper, the system of the comprehensive evaluation on equipmentstatus of tamping machine has been designed. The system’s function modules andarchitecture was analysed and the function of each module was described and overalldesigned; In addition, the database of the system was detailedly designed, and theinterface of comprehensive evaluation system on equipment status of tampingmachine was realized on the basis of the above.
