The safety of drinking water affects directly the residents’health and safety.Due to surface water seriously polluted,the municipal water supply system is facing enormous pressure.And the municipal water plant mainly adopt conventional water treatment processes,which is difficult to react the complex changes in water quality and also is poor to remove many kinds of toxic trace organics in water.Therefore,as the family’s extremity protection measures,household water purifiers rapidly emerged.By combining activated carbon, membrane filtration and many other deep water process.household water purifier can effectively remove odor, chlorine,organic matter and heavy metals and so on.Therefore,the actual purifying performance of household water purifier become the key impact of water purifier market and the residents’safe of drinking water.This study mainly includes two parts:the first part, tap water was monitored,that was sampled from many families located in14cities in the economically developed Yangtze River Delta Region.where was saidyed owing to ihc niurc prominent andtypical problem of drinking water relativdy:The second partahe preliminary rcscarchof household water puriifer market was earn out. Jiaxing City as an example. While avariety of activated carbon water puriifer was tested to study (he actual purifyingperformance variation by long-term dynamic tracking experiments.The results showed that:l.The tap water in13cities of Yangtze River Delia are sampled Randomly andmonitored the water quality, rhere are significant differences in water quality testedfrom different urban pipe network.TOC results as an example,the TOC values of tapwater sampled from Ningbo,Jinhua,Taizhou and other cities with reservoir watersources is significantly less than sampled from Shanghai?WLi\i,Si]7hou and Jiaxingand other cities,vvhicli all extracted river water as sourcc vvater.TOC values of Ihcformer are less than1.0mg/L,but the latter is all higher than1.5mg/L,in which theTOC values of Jiaxing is the highestwith an average of3.7mg/L.Although some ofthe city’s water supply system using ozonc-activated carbon and other advancedtreatment process,the quality of water source directly determines the quality ofdrinking water residents;Sorne part of commercial bottled and barreled drinkingpurifyed water were sclcctcd and monitored.Tindings that TOC values of bottleddrinking water are similar to the better water sampled lrom Lishuijinhua and otherareas,and are less than1.0mg/L. I herctbre,in the next study on puriyfing performanceof household water purifiers,the rcfcrcnce target is set1.0mg/L for the TOCE value ofeffluent from water puriifers,so that the water puriifed quality of household waterpurifier is close to the level of water quality with reservoir water sources.2.Water purifier has many types and brands of products with differentcombinations of processes.Market research of household water purifiers for someresidents of Jiaxing City results that:72percent of water puriifer is from importedbrands, and50percent of the price of water purifiers is above2,000yuan, and themain purpose using water filter is to replace the tap water for drinking water and someother convenient ways.Most residents perfer the table purifierjn which has74%added ultraifltration strucuire?and26%reverse osmosis water puriifcrThc real-timeTOC removal of different water puriifer has large ditTerencc in puriricationperformance.3.14models of famous domestic and foreign brands*water purifier usingactivated carbon uiiil were purchased as experimental materials, lo assess their actual puriyfing pcrformanccTOC as the mainly test indicators was studied and theattenuation rule of purifier of organic matter removal was tested by long-termdynamic tracking experiments:in initial opcration.thc elffuen’ts TOC levels of waterpurifiers decreases significantly than tlie influent、TOC levels.With the increasedflow capacity (or the time of continuous use), the eflfuent’s TOC of sections ofpurifier has signiifcantly increasing trend, but the trend of attenuation of TOCremoval performance are significant diffcrent.The attenuation of part of the waterfilter varies too fast.Water production of part of water purifiers is less than200Lwhile TOC of the treated water penetrate the set-limit of1.0mg/L.Only three waterpurifier (accounting for21%of the total assessment) have certain long-lastingpuriifcation performance (puriyf tap water over1200L continuously),which aresuitable for long-term use for actual households,Conc]usion:the different types ofhousehold water purifier have difference in puriifcation performance during theexperiment,so the residents need to select appropriate water iflter based on waterquality characteristics of the region to meet the long-term use.
