ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) is an important element of vehiclesafety,it can not only improve the stability and the maneuverability ofthe car,but also prevent the car from skidding and tail whipping whileemergency braking.Therefore the detection of the ABS performance isvery important.Some current testing method of ABS is a static test thatcan’t detect the comprehensive performance of automobile ABS after it’sassembled to the car.And there are problems with road vehicle test,suchas high risks,long testing lead-time,high cost and special runway must bebuilt.So it’s difficult to meet the demand of the detection requirement forhigh efficiency and intelligence.And it is significant to design bench testfor automobile ABS performance.As far as this problem is concerned,in order to detect and evaluatethe performance of automobile ABS on various road surfaces withcertain attachment coefficient,it adopts magnetic particle clutch which isused to simulate various conditions of road surface and realizesdetection of automobile ABS performance on different road withdifferent attachment coefficient.It realizes accurate and real-timecompensation of automobile kinetic energy to improve measurementprecision by using one flywheel and one motor.Through the way ofcalculation and deduction it proved that electrical inertia simulationenergy compensation method has good real-time performance andcontinuity.Magnetic clutch drive circuit is designed for excitation anddemagnetization control in road simulation.Because of the traditionalPID control method having the dynamic overshoot and long responsetime and also the disadvantage of long adjusting time and the poorcontrol accuracy.This article considered using fuzzy self-adaptive PIDcontroller,it will automatically change the PID parameters according tothe error and can do on-line parameter adjustment.It makes the systemmuch faster and more accurate and also improves the anti-interferenceperformance.To dynamically simulate the brake road conditions by usingmagnetic particle clutch.The adhesion coefficient between tire and roadsurface is realized by controlling torque transmission between master and slave shaft of magnetic particle clutch.Finally,application of LabVIEW software in the test bench systemof automobile ABS and performed several typical road conditionsexperiments which required in national standards for the2004Jetta GIFmanual luxury car,and compared with a road test.On one hand theexperimental results shows that the design of bench test can meet theneeds of car ABS detected,on the other hand shows the reasonablenessand effectiveness of electrical inertia simulation energy compensationand adaptive fuzzy PID algorithm in ABS test bench.
