With the continuous development of the wind power industry, Wind Turbine Condition Monitoring System (CMS) has gradually become an important tool of the operation and maintenance of wind farms. CMS can accurately predict the hidden faults of the mechanical equipment of wind farms, analyze the location and the degree of the faults, public the inspection report and generate strategy of maintenance and repair, so it has a very high technological content and practical value. By installing sensors and the logic control of the lower machine, CMS collect data of the condition for the wind turbine. By the monitoring software of the upper machine, CMS analyze and process the data to generate thematic maps of faults. CMS diagnose the faults applying the theory of the frequency characteristics of faults. At the same time, it can retain the data of the historical condition, monitor and control the full life-cycle condition of the wind turbine in the control room as well as in the remote offices of the owners of the wind power. So CMS has great significance for reducing costs of operation and maintenance and improving economic efficiency.First, this thesis conducts an investigation on the development of wind power industry. Second, learn the theories about the condition monitoring in domestic and foreign. Third, learn the theories of frequency and cepstrum analysis. Fourth, basing on the installation and configuration of the system sensor and the lower machine developed by the project team, make the requirement analysis and system design of upper machine following the methodology of software engineering. Finally, develop and apply the monitoring software of the upper machine with C#programming language. The author participated in the process of system development including investigation of technical route, requirement analysis, design, coding and testing for upper machine. The author mainly realizes the whole functional module of upper machine including data collection, data analysis, data display and video supervisory.The software has the following functions:collecting the data of low-frequency and high-frequency vibration; getting the real signal of the vibration acceleration of the mechanical equipment; realizing the FFT and cepstrum analysis; drawing thematic pictures and realizing video monitoring of the wind cabin with the IP camera. Through these functions, operation worker can talk to wind cabin by PC directly and realize status monitoring. The theory and practice studied in this thesis will be useful for the realization of China’s holographic status monitoring system of wind turbines.
