Nowadays, lightning is one of the main factors which threaten the safe operation of power system. With the development of Chinese electric power system, the scale of the grid is continuously expanding, and the structure of power system is increasingly complex. In order to reduce the hazards of lightning to the power system, grasping the lightning regular pattern and guiding scientifically the lightning prevention becomes more and more important.This article mainly about external lightning risk in power grid system. And how scientific assessment of the risk of lightning grid. First of Zhejiang lightning distribution and the correlation of factors such as climate, terrain, landform is studied; Further study of Zhejiang power grid transmission line lightning tripping and lightning parameters, tower external factor correlation law; On this basis, the lightning risk multi-factor comprehensive evaluation model is established, the Zhejiang power grid lightning risk grade division method is proposed and lightning risk map drawing method; Zhejiang electric power grid lightning and introduces the distribution and risk assessment, the main functions of the system software.The system is based on CSharp for development tool, to Arc/Info for GIS development platform, developing electric power GIS with integrated secondary development of AE(ArcGIS Engine) components.It can realize graphical editing, information query, spatial analysis, system management, visual display, and other functions. This article features is variety of visual expression, including contour visualization and grid rendering visualization, clearly and directly express the operation of the node, obtain and analyze grid distributions of each parameter. This system is currently accepted and applied with power sector. It is very important and significant to grasp the lightning activity rules, reduce the damages and threats caused by lightning for the power system transmission lines, substation facilities, and other electrical facilities and equipment, and guide the scientific lightning preventive construction.
