Lightning disasters is one of the top ten natural disasters published by the United NationsInternational Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction, is also one of the top ten disasters in Ch-ina. With the construction of modern society, power, communications, aviation, marine,trans-portation,forestry,petrochemical, as well as the rapid development of microelectronicstechnology, lightning disasters become more common and more serious.The disaster is a risk, disaster prevention is to manage and reduce or eliminate the risk.To do this, we need to correctly understand and assess risk for lightning disaster in termsof carrying out the lightning disaster risk assessment, and then implement a reasonable lightn-ing protection.The research of lightning disaster risk assessment is basically still in theinitial stage, the research institutes at home and abroad for the lightning disaster risk assessm-ent and provide a number of evaluation criteria. For example: the International Electrotechnic-al Commission on the lightning disaster risk assessment standards IEC61662, its scope is fla-sh lightning risk assessment for buildings (including services andfacilities);released by the In-ternational Electrotechnical Union standard ITU-TK.39, its scope iscommunication bureau station lightning over-voltage (over current) equipment hazards,and personnel safety hazards riskassessment; China’s Meteorological Information System specification of lightning electroma-gnetic pulse protection QX3-2000, its scope of application of meteorological informationsystem by the lightning electromagneticpulse (LEMP) losses caused by risk assessment; littlelightning risk assessment studiesfor the transmission grid, with the development of intelligentnetwork in the world, toprotect the power grid safety and reliability as the primary task of thesmart grid and objectives, how effective and reasonable assessment of lightning disaster runthe risk ofsecurity and stability on the grid to become the key to reduce the power grid bylightningdisasters.In this article we use risk classification of grid safe operation and lightning research asbackground, and used SPSS software analyzed the lightning location data from1999to2008of Dongguan City, Obtained the lightning current amplitude probability distribution functionby data fitting; Proposed a new method of calculation based on the calculation method of thecomplex network of nodes for its weaknesses, the use of the city under the jurisdiction of the500kV and220kV transmission grid topology modeling calculations to get ther egionspecificlines in the grid structurethe weight coefficients;This article Combinedwith the line lightningtrip rate, automatic re-closing success rate, manual strongto send electrical success rate,theweight coefficient lines in the grid structure, the rightweight coefficient in different periods of grid in specific run way and weather factors,device type, fault type, etc.influencingfactors raised the risk of the regional transmission grid lightning flashover model to assessthe risk of regional transmission lines subjected to the lightning the establishmentof the regional power grid, lightning risk model to assess the different lines in the regional tra-nsmission grid subjected to lightning case of risk, reduce the specific operation of the gridlightning risk and protective measures to provide a theoretical basis for the grid operation unit.
