In recent years, with the application of energy dissipation technology more widely, nonlinear viscous damper has been widely used in seismic engineering. Many countries have formulated corresponding energy dissipation structure design, construction norms and regulations, the Chinese Code for Seismic Design of buildings (GB50011-2010) also increases the energy dissipation design provisions in domestic absorption outside the relatively mature research results, based on a list of some of the principle provisions on energy dissipation design, but it is difficult to grasp and applied practical engineering practice as a general engineer.Because of viscous dampers with a strong nonlinear characteristics, which makes the analysis and design of nonlinear viscous dampers structures become more complex and difficult. In this paper, the structure of the nonlinear viscous dampers, a systematic study, combined with the general-purpose finite element software SAP2000, presents a practical design methods to make better nonlinear viscous dampers used in engineering practice the.First, this paper describes the structure and mechanical model of nonlinear viscous dampers and viscous dampers from the additional damping ratio formula, detailing the design theory and distribution theory damping.Then, the third chapter of the general-purpose finite element software SAP2000introduced the system, its analog, simulation and calculation methods damping structure viscous dampers damping structure, a detailed explanation.
