Belt conveyors is the most important continuous conveyor equipment for bulk materials transport.Now belt conveyors is widely used in coal,mining,electricity, building materials,container,transportation and many other fields,for its Simple structure, reliable and versatile.But with the demands of longer transport distances,increasing traffic and special environment, dynamic characteristics of the belt conveyor is also more complex,static design method can not match the requirement any more,and the traditional experimental methods can not meet the need to study the dynamic characteristics either.With the development of computer technology,The simulation Technology based on kinetic equation and the virtual prototyping technology based on CAD and CAE are widely used to study the dynamic characteristics of belt conveyors.Paper firstly introduced the static and dynamic characteristics of the belt,the main conponent of belt conveyor,established its kinetic equation and analyzed its running resistance.Then based on this theory,studied the conveyor belt tension calculation methods and the determination of idler spacing deeply.Through the study of point_by_point conveyor belt tension calculation method,found that calculating the belt tention starting from taut tension,which is known,can simplify the calculation to a certain extent.And then by analyzing and comparing the determination by national standard and the grade calculation method of ider spacing.Found that if combine the point_by_point conveyor belt tension calculation method with the grade calculation method of idler spacing,we can more easily obtain the theoretical values of idler spacing.Finally I simulated the belt conveyors using the professional multi-body dynamics simulation analysis platform of RecurDyn.Analyzed the influence of different operating conditions and parameters,specifically load,tensioning device and idler spacing,on the dynamic characteristics of the belt conveyor.By comparing and analyzing the simulation results,Discussed its impact on the dynamic characteristics of the belt conveyors like drive torque,motion passing and vibration.Which can provide references for the theoretical research and design of belt conveyors.
