Along with the whole society pay high attention to environment and energy problem, electric forklift has become the preferred target for people to develop eco-friendly forklift. This paper studied a new-type forklift gantry system; the main contents are as follows:First of all, put forward a new type of forklift gantry system. Aiming at the problem of low efficiency of the electric forklift hydraulic lift system, choose the ball screw to replace hydraulic cylinder to earn high transmission efficiency. Secondly, model of forklift overall design and research. In this chapter put forward the design thinking of new forklift gantry system, the frame layout and ball screw anti reversing device is studied, and the virtual simulation model of the forklift portal frame system is built. Thirdly, study on forklift truck hoisting mechanism mathematical model. Analysis and Research on the main components of force between the lifting mechanism, and introduces the engineering example. Fourthly, new forklift gantry system model finite element analysis. The fork, the inner frame and the outer door frame is analyzed by finite element analysis, and the ball screw for the fatigue analysis and research. Fifthly, study on the transmission efficiency of the forklift portal frame system. Analysis and compare of the transmission efficiency of two kinds of forklift lifting mechanism, and study on the transmission efficiency of ball screw. Finally, the new portal frame system simulation and tilt cylinder layout optimization. Through carries on the kinematics simulation of the new portal frame system, observe the motion performance. In addition, put forward the method of tilt cylinder position optimization which based on MATLAB. This method was validated by the engineering example.Through the theoretical calculation can know that compared with the existing forklift gantry system, the transmission efficiency of new forklift gantry system is increased by19.75%.
