With the high-speed development of economy, the demand of steelcoil is increasing day by day. In the process of steel coil from production toaccomplishment, vertical state and horizontal state of steel coil need to be convertedcontinuously. Currently the flip of steel coil can be safely completed by steel coil tilteron the market, but its low efficiency and high cost are not the best choice for smalland medium-sized enterprises. In order to increase the production efficiency of ironand steel enterprises, the flip and transportation of steel coil has become a thornyproblem. The flip of steel coil can be completed by the flip clamp of the subject in theair. And the steel coil is directly dispatched to the transport equipment. It is greatlyincreasing production efficiency and saving a lot of resources.The structure of steel coil aerial flip clamp is complicated. The weight of steelcoil is dozens of tons. Steel coil easily fall off in turning process. In case of accident,light damage is equipment trouble, heavy casualties. The intensity of clamp ischecked by virtual technology. Its security is particular important. The mostaffordable weight of steel coil is30tons in the paper. The turn speed is3r/min. Therequirement is steady without dash in turning process.The research and analysis have been done from the following three aspects in thearticle. First, virtual prototype modeling operation is completed by modeling functionof SolidWorks on the aerial flip clamp. At the same time, global interference analysisis carried out on the model. It can examine the rationality of design and assemblingand manufacturability. Second, motion simulation analysis has been done by ADAMSon the aerial flip clamp. The three processes are simulated, including clamp tightening,clamp rising, clamp flip. The relevant motion curve is got through analysis of eachprocess, including speed curve, displacement curve, etc. The force of steel coil isdetermined in rising process. Finally, static strength of clamp main component isanalyzed by ANSYS. The rationality of design is verified.
