Instrument panel is the main interface of Human-computer interaction, but alsothe window of realizing the instrument function. Manipulators achieved the purposeof the operation through the various functional areas of the instrument panel knobs,buttons, interfaces, etc. Instrument panel plays an important role in the realization ofthe entire instrument function.Multi-touch technology with touch screen as the input interface, as ARM andother microprocessor control circuitry to handle information from multiple touchpoints at the same time, reliably and accurately positioning coordinates andcoordinate information to the the signal processing circuit for analysis to identifyfurther judgment on the touch operation, and guide the appropriate equipment tomake the right action. Intelligent Instrument introduction of multi-touch technology,is the development direction of intelligent instrumentation. The multi-touchtechnology into smart instrumentation panel, not only can bring great convenience tooperate, the instrument can also reduce the size, weight, increase portability,aesthetics.This paper solved the following problems based on exploring the principle ofmulti-touch technology:1. Proposed Hardware architecture of intelligent instrument panel based onmulti-touch technology.2. Study the underlying device driver technology and software of intelligentinstrument panel based on multi-touch technology.3. Proposed an area merging algorithm to achieve multi-touch object tracking.4. System out a prototype based on the proposed hardware architecture ofintelligent instrument panel, and conducted hardware testing.
