Abstract:With the development of high-speed train, the function of train network control system is growing more and more powerful. Both the requirements between vehicles, vehicle and the ground to transmit train controlling information and the demands of the operator and passenger to optimize experience demand the train network control system transmits more and more information, and thus a sharp increase of network bandwidth. The traditional train communication network (TCN), however, cannot support such a large amount of data information, so it is of great necessity to establish a modern train communication network. As the Ethernet has excellent performances in transmission rate and network bandwidth, the introduction of Ethernet technology into train communication network has become a hotspot.The train communication network based on Ethernet technology, however, is still in its infancy of development, adding the immature standards and system, thus it still cannot completely replace the traditional TCN system. Therefore, this paper aims to design and implement a train communication network supports both Ethernet-based, but also with the traditional TCN network node data Intelaction. In consideration of security requirements, the train control system is added with monitor module network nodes, with the connections between the nodes using loop redundancy strategy. As a result, the scheme ensures the safety and reliability of the train communication network based on the realization of Inteloperability of Ethernet and traditional TCN, solving the problem of traditional TCN’s insufficient capability of network bandwidth.COTS theory was used in hardware deployment and the overall structure design. According to the actual environmental requirements, scheme chooses hardware devIECs including PC/104CPU module, MVB Intel face module, PowerPC computer module, and switch module serving as network nodes. Meanwhile, the software function includes the corresponding BSP, drivers and main program. To further verify the functionality and performance of the network nodes, the paper built a web-based communications platform using VxWorks real-time operating system and completes its system implantation and debugging of the network nodes that has been tested and validated and the PC-board unit that simulates the vehicle signal source devIEC.Final results showed that, with the expected train communication network based on Ethernet node functions, network nodes designed in this paper could fulfill its expectant function and achieve network Intelconnection between the Ethernet-based communication networks and traditional TCN networks under a certain degree of security, reliability and timeliness requirements. A way to solve the current problem of insufficient bandwidth for train network communication and accomplished its original design was peovided in this paper.
