It has always been an important driving force of the urban sustainabledevelopment. As a space location unique to the city, the waterfront open space combineswater, land and transition areas as a whole. It has more space for development than otherspaces of the city and it helps a lot in increasing the space capacity of the city, improvingeco-environmental quality and assisting social economy, etc. In recent years, the citywaterfront open space is under construction like a raging fire. However, with the rapiddevelopment comes several problems. Therefore, the construction of the urban waterfrontopen space for sustainable development has become a priority of all for designers. BiyangCounty is a rich in history and culture city, is under its way to become a modernized gardencharming city with the strategic objective of "a river, cross river development", because ofwhich the design of Biyang River waterfront open space landscape becomes particularlyimportant.This article starts from the relevant basic research of landscape planning and design ofthe waterfront open space, then systematically elaborates certain related concepts of citywaterfront open space, its components, characteristics and domestic and foreign researches.The review summarizes problems in China’s waterfront open space landscape constructionand future development trends. On the basis of this research, by comprehensively illustratingthe design practice of Gaoyi high speed wire in Biyang River waterfront open space landscape,the author explores landscape planning and design of city open space.Then in practice, thesignificance of the combination of theories and practice can be realized by referring to manyrelated theories. In the end, the prospect of this topic research is out forward by summarizingand concluding this research. How to ensure the sustainable development of the ecosystemand prompt the organic combination of the urban waterfront landscape construction and thecity characteristic style is become the need to solve problems in the research of landscapeplanning and design. |
