Research On The Regeneration Strategies Of The Station Buildings Along Middle East Railway

In this paper, analyzing the historical background of the Station Buildings of Middle East Railway, because of the negligence in maintenance and management,the style and features of a large number of the Station Buildings of Middle East Railway are changed in different degrees or even destroyed wantonly, in spite of the fact that these buildings are epitomes of a special period of history. Under this circumstance,the protection of the Station Buildings of Middle East Railway is confronted with great challenge and the reconstruction has become an inevitable social need. Author summarizes the present situation and characteristics,classifies them according to the different present situation of regeneration. Even though the Station Buildings of Middle East Railway cannot meet the need of modern railway development,the historical sense it exposes is of great culture value and has tremendous potential in its future development.By reference to domestic and foreign related station building as an example,author compare the connotations between the Station Buildings of Middle East Railway and the modern railway stations.And dissects the problems existing in regeneration from three aspects,including the otherness of times,partial adjustment of urban development and the promotion and restriction of high-speed railway. Aiming at these problems,puts forward the specific regeneration strategy and design methods from both the macro and micro direction. Through exhaustive analyses and elaboration,this paper not only puts forward specific strategies in macro area from the aspects of the times, cities and railways, but also provides some examples of reference from the micro levels of the appearance, structure, function, wholeness and infrastructure in accordance with the gradual advancing form. The author hope this paper can provide useful reference for the regeneration design of future practice.
