The substation voltage at the Handan grid frequent fluctuations when the loadchanges. If artificial control substation voltage and reactive power,it will add theattendant burden, but also it will be difficult to ensure the adjustment reasonable andtimely.Therefore, With the ever-increasing demands of the users about power quality,Handan Power Supply Company dispatching automation system upgrade project wasofficially approved at October2011. This paper mainly study the research of theautomatic voltage control (AVC) at home and abroad, Specifically design the Handangrid AVC system, and its operation.I depthly study the research of domestic and foreign about automatic voltage controlsystem, analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of various types of AVC systems,choosing a suitable AVC structure for the Handan grid Combination of Handan gridactual.I analyze the key technologies of the Handan grid AVC system. Firstly, I study thebasic theory of the hierarchical partitioning of reactive power and voltage, selecting threevoltage control mode based on "soft partition" as the structure of the of Handan gridAVC system, and introducing in detail the basic theory and algorithm of the three voltagecontrol and secondary voltage control. Secondly, The focus is derived formula forcalculating network losses on the capacitor bank and adjust the sensitivity of OLTCtransformer tap. At last, I introduce voltage and reactive power automatic control systemwidely applied to substation.I detailed design the Handan grid AVC system. First, I determine the structure andcontrol objectives of the of Handan grid AVC system, developing the control mode andcontrol strategy. Second, I develop optimization calculation processes and controlprocesses of reactive power and voltage, explicating the function of the system,instructing the system configuration diagram and database structure. At last, I detailinstruct the key technologies and techniques of Handan grid AVC system.I Introduce the Handan grid AVC system, analyzing the problems during itsoperation, developing appropriate solutions. The result shows that the Handan grid AVCsystem performance very good, which transformer tap and capacitor bank has a high rateof implementation, effectively reducing the human misuse and line losses, improvingpower quality, meanwhile, the flow of reactive power became more reasonable.
