Research On The Enery Conservation Evaluation Of Traditional Dwellings In Southern Shanxi:an Empirical Study On Identity Of The Traditional Vernacular Buildings

Shanxi Province is located in the central region of our country. Since it is one of the important heavy industry provinces in China, Shanxi Province pro-vides rich energy production while costs large energy consumption every year. It has a large rural area in territory, with a great number of village houses, which leads the large scale of daily energy consumptions. Shanxi traditional residence is the main building style in the local village, and it naturally occupies a larger proportion in the local energy consumption. Under the increasing global energy crisis, China fully implements the energy conservation strategy. Since the build-ing energy evaluation was implemented in our country, it has been widely used in the evaluations of urban residential buildings and public buildings. If the as-sessment model of energy conservations in rural traditional residential buildings could be formed, it will promote the reduction of energy consumption of build-ing energy in rural areas. In addition, unlike town houses and citizens, local res-idents and their inhabitant has a certain particularity, which needs to pay neces-sary attention when form its energy conservations assessment model. Local tra-ditional residential and its inhabitants as the object of building energy assess-ment should be fully studied its technology and social attributes, grasp the rela-tionship between the energy-saving evaluation and identity.The main topics of this thesis are traditional residential building energy as-sessment and identity issues, as well as the problem of grasping the relationship between the two issues. Traditional houses and residents in the country of southern region in Shanxi are selected to be the object of study. In the first chapter of the thesis, researcher conducted related review, providing a clear re-search direction, framework, meaning and purpose. Then this thesis discussed the Culture of traditional houses in southern Shanxi and the relationship between traditional Culture and energy efficiency, Culture and Identity, energy efficiency and Identity in the second chapter. The third chapter mainly introduced the re-search and the real saving status of traditional residential in southern Shanxi. Chapter Four demonstrated the establishment of the energy-saving evaluation system of traditional houses in southern Shanxi and its application of simulation example. In the fifth chapter of this thesis, we discussed problems emerged dur-ing evaluation. Chapter6made a comprehensive summary and a long-term stra-tegic outlook.By analyzing the discussion, the paper drawn an important conclusions of the traditional residential energy efficiency assessment and identity, and the rela-tionship between them. Clarifying the importance of each of the two, the impor-tance of the latter for the former and a combination of both for strategic impor-tance of energy conservation. This thesis carried out the views innovatively about the aspects of identity brought in energy-saving evaluation. Eventually, the theory and perspectives of this thesis applies to energy conservation of tradi-tional houses in southern Shanxi, which can be used as a reference for future re-search.
