With the acceleration of urbanization and economic development, the amountand applications of elevator have increased. The elevator can bring convenience toour lives; it can also cause human casualties for elevator accident. Scientific andstandardized management of elevator is imminent; Internet of Things (IOT) is a goodsolution to this serious social problem. IOT is the expansion and extension of theInternet, it puts items and internet together by infrared sensors、laser scanner、radiofrequency identification device and so on, so that it can realize the all intelligentidentification, tracking, positioning, monitoring, and management of items. Theelevator monitoring system based on IOT can build a safe living environment by theroutine maintenance and supervision; it also can help maintenance personnel torescue trapped people quickly.This article elaborates the elevator monitoring system based on IOT in thecontext of WIOT. The system is divided into three layers: Terminal perception layer,network transport layer and application layer, the application layer includes Datatransmitting module, Operation and Maintenance module and monitoring platform.Data transmitting Module will send the common data to the Operation andMaintenance Plat of sensor node and the data about elevator to application server.Operation and Maintenance Module can test the performance of sensor nodes andhand the fault. The users including maintenance unit、property unit、governmentdepartments can query fault history record and monitor the elevator through themonitoring platform.Combined with the theory and practice, this article is divided into six parts todiscuss the whole system. The background and research status between domestic andinternational of the system is introduced firstly. Secondly, we research the designrequirements for the system and present an overall design scheme of the system.Thirdly, we design and development the data acquisition and transmission module,we also explore a module to operate and maintain the sensor node. Fourthly wedescribe the development of design ideas and database in detail and some functionmodules of monitoring platform, then improve the traditional algorithm for mining association rule based on elevator fault types. Fifthly we test the system function, andanalysis the optimization of mining association rules and improvement to elevatorrunning maintenance efficiency. Finally we summarize the system and prospect onthe future research. The system has been tested to run properly, reliable and stable.
