Study On The Design Of Green Architecture With Parametric Logic

If we compile all the cultural heritages in human history into one single book, Ibelieve the accomplishments in these near five decades will outnumber those of thepast centuries. This era of “information explosion” is witnessing the application ofnew technologies in each day and new concepts flooding into human sight. Therefore,what we need now is not only the adaptability to passively follow this new age but anattitude to take initiative and make great breakthroughs. These two innovations, greenarchitecture and parametric design, were not derived from architecture. But onceappeared, they caught extensive attention from architects all around the world.Over the past ten years, green architecture and parametric design have formedtheir theoretical systems respectively, and some cases applying these notions havealso been widely recognized by architects and the society. As newly emergedarchitectural design models, their great potential is undeniable, but inevitably they arein the face of development bottleneck. Even though green architecture and parametricdesign have their own unique sources, they share no essential conflicts. On thecontrary, they are mutual complementary. Stones from other hills may serve to polishjade. By reasonably combining these two models, a new design model free from theirdrawbacks come into being. More importantly, it carries their advantages. Based ontheoretical analysis and relevant cases, this paper discusses the feasibility of theirintegration, the integrating model and its influence on architectural design process andresult.This paper is not just about the theoretical study and discussion of integrateddesign model, it tells how to process design elements, organize design flow andconstruct design logic, aiming at a deeper and wider level of design practice. Theauthor will not try to establish a complete theoretical system, but to make explorationsand give a periodic summary on the integrated design model, which is to promote theinnovations on architectural design methods.
