Now, the substation single patrol model has been unable to meet the requirements of thehigh reliability and the conditions of the limited manpower and material resources. It is veryimportant to optimize the existing patrol models considering the equipment conditionassessment based on the traditional patrol models. The paper optimizes patrol cycle with amulti-objective optimization model considering equipment ratings、consumption of humanand material resources and ensuring the safe and stable operation of substation.First, the paper finds out the difference of various equipment in substation andcomprehensively analyzes the substation equipment patrol methods and ideas, which lays afoundation of this paper and further opens a way to study patrol period based on differentialoperation and maintenance.Secondly, the paper introduces a model considering the initial state of substation, basedon time and equipment condition assessment. It gets the expression of substation patrol cycleand condition assessment with the theory that it will deteriorate the running status of thesubstation if the potential defects are not handled in time. On this basis, this paper builds anappropriate objective function and constraint conditions to establish the patrol cycleoptimization model based on the theory of state evaluation.Thirdly, through analyzing the mathematical properties of the model, we can get thebetter solution of this problem by solving the model with multiple-object non-linearoptimization theory and technology, and then obtain the calculation results of substationinspection period for some studying cases. Finally, this paper checks the calculation results in actual works by choosing somesubstation as experiment, and the better results obtained by the optimized inspection modelare demonstrated.
