The design of automobile assembly-welding line mostly focused on two points:workshop layout and cycle time balance, the theory is mainly trying to improving theproduction and the workmen’s efficiency, reduce the cost of maintenance andoperation, and assuring the long-term operation efficiency of the line. In this article,the planning&design of an automobile assembly-welding line is conductedaccordingly to process of automobile assembly-welding production and productionrequirements.The design is optimized centered by cycle time balance and workshoplayout. The achievement shave been applied to the design and optimization of apractical automobile factory. The effectiveness of mentioned has somehow verified insome of the local vehicle plants for layout planning and process improvement.Firstly, the article describes layout design and balancing theory. In layout design,it describes work shop mode, the influencing design factors. In balancing theory, itdescribes the definition of balancing, the influencing factors and introduced theconcepts proposed to line balancing principles as well as the evaluation methods.Then, based on the practices with the series of the vehicles models, with whichsummarized the layout principles of workshop. The shop floor plan is also based onthe characteristics and models itself constitute capacity requirements, with thesubsequent development of the demand for shop layout.Finally, the article aims at to design for welding shop layout process for theproduction line of an automotive factory, to optimize the process design roboticwelding station, to eliminate the measures taken in the bottleneck station, andstatistics the new added manpower and fixtures for the mixed line through theapplication of the production line balancing theory and combined with the projects inthe article.
