In recent years, with the development of economic construction, the requirementof comprehensive land in the city rised sharply. However the land reclamationprojects provided a new way. In traditional way, sediment in the sea had beenhydraulic filled by using cutter suction dredger to the area adjoining by seawall, andin the area foundation treatment had been done. However, the early seawall buildingplays a vital role in the whole project. As the new seawall is located off the coastbefore a land reclamation. The seawall external structure and foundation faced thedamage storms, erosion, etc., prone to sliding failure. Therefore, before construction, security and stability issues of seawall project is one of the key indicators of projectrisk control, which is also concerned by designers. In this paper the seawall project has been researched as an example. Thetheoretical calculation method and numerical simulation method have been used toanalyze stability against sliding of the seawall composed of packs inside and riprapoutside. Because of the aging packs of the seawall cohesion force declined whichimpact the stability against sliding of the seawall. As the aging packs, the stress anddisplacement filled out, in which the horizontal was most. This effect leaded toplastically deforming area which caused slide of the seawall. The calculation showed that the scour depth of entrance was more than that ofone end of the seawall. And the scour pit would extend to the base of the seawall. Itwas too dangerous for the stability of the seawall. The scour depth of the entrancebeach would reach to15.5meters. on the storm condition. The vertical displacementof the seawall block stone base would be larger than normal, scour toe wouldupheaval, sloping surfaces would slide horizontally, and the sliding surface in thesolum formed. In the paper it was analyzed that the aging packs and part of scour underwaterground would lead to slide for the seawall. The weakness in the process of theconstruction has been indicated. The method of analysis and calculation would begive a guide for the similar seawall in the land reclamation project.
