As the economy developing, the number of buildings has been expanding, theensuing energy issues have become increasingly prominent. The traditional method isusually based on the experience of energy-efficient building design architects or applyexisting techniques. Energy efficient buildings of different functions or different climatichave different requirements, which traditional method can not satisfy. It’s more difficultfor traditional method to intervene in the process of architectural design. So, it is difficultto achieve better energy efficiency.As BIM technology widely used in building design and in-depth, it’s easy forarchitects to simulate and do energy-saving design in the architectural design process.What’s more, it’s convenient to do energy-saving design according to different needs anddifferent climates. Thus, in the context of a sustainable society, exploration and practiceof BIM-based energy-saving design in architectural design process have greatsignificance.In this paper, I’d like to explore energy-saving design in the architectural designprocess, applying to specific climate and specific projects. I will explore different energysaving design that is need in the different stages of architectural design, and how canBIM achieve it. First, I analysis the relationship between energy-saving design and theclimate. Different climatic regions have different standards, and focus on different pointsof energy-saving design. secondly, the architectural design process is divided into pre-design stage, schematic design stage and design develop stage. In the pre-design stage, Iexplore from the buildings layout and optimization, building orientation to buildingvolume and other aspects of energy-saving design. In the schematic design stage, Iexplore from architectural design, layout design, skin design, space saving design andother aspects of the energy-saving design. In the design develop stage, I explore fromcomponent design, construction open design, proactive energy efficiency and otheraspects of design. Finally, through the design of solar primary school to explore the useof energy-saving based on BIM. Comparing different optimization schemes throughsimulation analysis, ultimately get the energy-saving design results.With powerful simulation analysis capabilities of BIM, energy-saving designprocess design will be transformational development. Energy-efficient building designtruly effective to bring a bright future. But BIM-based energy-saving design need morepractice and exploration to improve. I need to explore the practice with more positiveattitude.
