International Engineering Contracting Industry has undergone a surgingdevelopment for the past few years in China. Both the volume of business and thetotal amount of newly-signed contracts have increased continuously. However,brought by the alternation of regime and turbulence in the the international society,the industry is facing the threats from the political risks, social risks and theuncertainty of project environment. The new characters from the industries bring newchallenges to the engineering contracting enterprises, which make it difficult for theenterprises to deal with. The traditional project management concepts and methodscan not provide an ideal solution or theoretical guaidance for the challenges theenterprises faced. The emergence and application of the theory of Multi-projectManagement in practice provide a solution for solving the aforesaid problems.Based on the existing theoretical research on such field and by incorporating theauthor’s many years’ working experience in the International Engineering ContractingIndustry, this thesis lists the main factors influencing the engineering contractingenterprises in selecting the Mutil-project Management Mode, and designs theauxiliary decision making model for the selection of Mutil-project Management Mode,and also brings forward the methods of how to select the Mutil-project ManagementMode for international engineering contracting enterprises and establish the relevantsupporting system, based on which, this thesis constructs the Implementation modelfor Mutil-project Management, which can be divided into four parts according to thelife cycle of Mutil-project Management, namely project selection and classification,planing, implementation and monitoring, and closure and performance assessment. Atthe end of this thesis, a practical case is cited to analyze the application of the model.The analysis on Mutil-project Management Mode and Implementation Model inthis thesis can provide a useful example for the application of Mutil-projectManagement Theory in the International Engineering Contracting Industry. TheMutil-project Management Implementation Model constructed based on the workingexperience gained from the practice and the existing theoretical research can providean effective solution for the International Engineering Contracting Enterprises insolving the problems occurring in the process of self-development, which will finally help to improve the Companies’ skill in project management and add more profit forthe enterprises.
