Substation operation industry has the effect of gathering energy, boosting, bucking anddistributing electricity. Substation operation industry is the bracket of power grid operation,the heart of the grid, and the middle part of contracting power user with power station, and ithas an important position of the grid. Therefore, only the substation is operated safely, can thepower grid be in motion safely and stably. This paper takes500kV substation in Shantou forthe study. In order to solve the safe operation of management problems in500kV substation,it researches improvement measures and proposes the safe operation management system ofsubstation’s construction ideas.Firstly, the paper discusses the status at home and abroad to run high-voltage substation,conducts some research on the safe operation and management of Shantou substation.Learning from actual experience in the starting station500kV Shantou, in reference to a largenumber of relevant literature, the paper leads to an important concept--safe operation of themanagement system, for the paper to carry out good theoretical preparation. Then describesthe basic management measures500kV substation Shantou safe operation must be takenthrough the integrated use of a variety of management and technical measures, including theestablishment of a relatively complete set of effective operation and management system,strengthen the operation of the substation management and so on. And then the paperintroduces to improve the safe operation of the substation equipment measures, includingstrengthening equipment operation, inspection and maintenance of safety management, theequipment for a reasonable risk assessment. Secondly, the paper makes use of substationautomation and control systems, to improve the operating system substation monitoring,remote monitoring system, intelligent inspection system, infrared temperature measurementsystem and fire protection system, establish a complete500kV safe operation of themanagement system. Finally, the paper will envisage the safe operation of managementsystems used in the actual construction, to demonstrate its relevance to achieve results, toverify its validity.
