As the main source of energy and power in the development of the national economy, the power can normal and efficient transmission will have an impact on whether the normal operation and the development of the whole national economy. And with the rapid development of national economy and modern computer and power electronic technology is widely used in power system, the scale and structure of China’s power transmission network also continue to grow and complex, and gradually towards the direction of development of automation of electric power systems. Although the automation of electric power system can improve the reliability and security of power system operation, but also on power system operation personnel professional knowledge and technical level of proposed higher requirements, accordingly also the training of the power simulation training system for the operators to put forward higher requirements.Substation fault simulation system is an important part of the substation simulation and training system, its main task is setting up substation simulation model and display operating parameters of the electrical components of the substation under normal and fault operation state. Whether or not reasonably design and implement the substation simulation training system will greatly affect the training effect of the simulation training system of the substation.We use the oriented object program design technology to design and realize a substation fault simulation system. It has intuitive interface and rich graphic element, through a simple operation it can rapid complete the substation model establishment, editing and parameter setting, and normal and fault operation based on substation simulation system model. In order to achieve this goal, the main works of this thesis are below.First, research the status quo and the domestic and foreign research of the development of power system training simulation system.Second, research the main types and characteristics of substation fault, which provide technical basis for fault simulation system.Third, talk about the object-oriented programming method, and pointed out the advantages of using C# programming language for fault simulation system development.Mathematical modeling of substation main electrical components, abstract the electrical components into components on the basis of Using WPF graphics control design techniques, create substation system electrical components control model, further comprising electrical components of graphics libraries, and related to the database to achieve the integration of the library.Fourth, the basic algorithms of system are analyzed, including the network topological algorithm which access to power system topological model, power flow algorithm which calculate power system voltage and distribution, and the fault calculation algorithm to get the power system fault electrical parameters.Fifth, according to the actual needs of the proposed substation fault simulation system design objectives and functional analysis and design modules of the system, including the rights management module, file management module, data management module, result and status display module, and according to the design realized the system through the windows platform application development environment for visual studio 2012 and C# program language.Finally, we use the fault simulation system to form a typical substation model, finish flow calculation and setting two-phase short circuit grounding fault to realize substation fault modeling and simulation, test the main function in this process, achieved satisfactory results.
