Study Of Contemporary Botanic Garden Planning Designand Development Tendency

During the evolution process of human-being civil society, the relationship between human and nature is constantly changing due to the on-going exploration and research on our living environment, which provide straight impetus to the development of botanical gardens. Facing severe ecological issues including resource exhaustion, environment pollution and species extinction, the rising discussion of bio-diversity and environmental restoration bring great challenges for the planning and construction of the Noah’s Ark-- botanical gardens. Through almost 1 century-time development to the 21st century, there is a massive transformation of china’s construction of botanical gardens, yet it is still marching on the developing process compared with world famous botanical gardens.The paper summarizes and induces the emerging and developing process of world’s botanic gardens, in order to conclude the characteristics of botanical gardens during different times, by using quantitative and qualitative analysis in 5 perspective of botanic garden planning, which including location, site background, functional layout, landscape space and touring management. The paper aims at deducing the development pattern and characteristics through the upper analysis, in order to summarize planning and design strategies of modern botanical gardens from multiple perspectives and proposing possible developing direction for the future, for contributing its own strength for China’s ecological civilization construction.
