Plant Landscape Analysis Of Hangzhou Botanic Garden

Botanic Gardens in the world today are developing rapidly, while countries are paying more and more attention to the construction of them. Unlike the ordinary parks, Botanic Gardens should attach importance both in their park appearance and scientific content. The most compelling factor of Botanic Gardens is not only science content but also beautiful scenes. In the creation of Botanic Garden landscape, plant landscaping occupies the primary position.In this paper, we discuss the theories of plant landscape in Botanical Garden through the research of their construction and theories of plant landscaping. Then we select Hangzhou Botanic Garden as a typical case. Through literature search and field research, we analyze 28 points in Hangzhou Botanic Garden, discuss its overall planning, zoning, community design, then sum up its landscape features, advantages, shortcomings and suggest improvements.This paper gets the following two results:(1) Theories of Botanic Gardens plant landscaping. According to the space, time and level, this paper analyzes the importance, type of plant landscape construction, and the the special treatment of Botanic Garden.(2) According to cases study, landscape features of Hangzhou Botanic Garden are summarized: build artificial plant communities according to local conditions, conform learning space in changing seasons, form landscape artistic conception. And two shortcomings: Firstly, plant species are not rich. Secondly, lack of attractive sites. Finally, according to on-site research and background analysis, five improvements are advanced: collect plant germplasm resources, improve science and education, financing for construction, build their own characteristics, take the road of eco-garden etc.
