With the development of construction in the national and provincial trunk highway,scale of highway net has been expanded and the traffic of the mountains has became increasingly convenience. However, due to the influence of mountainous terrain and climate, the early diseases, which can lead to reduce of road performance, appears on the asphalt pavement. If these early diseases do not be addressed promptly,it would cause a great impact on the service life and traffic safety of trunk highway. At the same time, the asphalt pavement is so narrow that it can not be continued construction in the state of opening transportation. Therefore, a suitable Pre-Maintenance Technology method needs to be found urgently for extending the service life and improving road performance.Research shows: Using HIR(Hot In–place Recycling), which has the advantage of shorter construction time, higher efficiency and more flexible unit-moving, can better deal with early diseases and improve flatness, skid resistance and impermeability.What’s more, the asphalt pavement can be continued construction in the state of opening transportation. So HIR meets the needs of conservation of the mountains national and provincial trunk highway. This paper, based on the foregoing content,presents a unit configuration of hot-air-circulating HIR.This paper, firstly, expounds the theory of types and causes of early diseases on the asphalt pavement. And proposes for meeting the needs of the mountains national and provincial trunk highway by comparing the advantages and disadvantages of various pre-maintenance technology and analyzing characteristics of mountainous terrain and climate. Further introduces the local heat regeneration equipments at home and abroad.Secondly, analyzes heating system and regeneration system of regeneration unit of Hot In–place Recycling system. Finally, based on the construction configuration principle of Machine group in situ thermal regeneration of asphalt pavement, proposes objectives,principles and method of unit configuration. And using an example of Guizhou Provincial Highway S201(from k135 +000 to k153 +000) verifies these contents.In conclusion: HIR is suitable for mountain national and provincial trunk highway.Using regeneration unit to pave Asphalt pavement can improve road performance and reduce the interference of traffic; Because of the particularity of the asphalt concrete material, graded heating technology should be used when dealing with the old Asphalt pavement; Seen the optimal production capacity of reclaimer as the benchmark and temperature requirements in all aspects as constraint condition, then calculates the reasonable production capacity of main and auxiliary machineries, and eventually forms a Mechanization Construction.
