With the development of the society and economy in recent years, there has been a fast increase of car ownership in China, which has resulted in the traffic jams in big cities. The urban traffic system has been faced up with a big challenge in cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. In order to solve this problem, a large amount of research has been made by many scholars and some effective methods have also been taken by the relevant government agencies. One of the most effective methods is to develop the public transportation system to solve the traffic jams in big cities.In terms of public transportation, rail transit has been put at the first place owing to its large traffic volume, less pollution, less delay and low carbon system. It has become an effective method to solve the traffic jams in big cities by developing the rail transit system. In order to ensure the high efficiency of the running of rail transit system, a lot of work must be done to achieve a proper arrangement of the different sections involved in rail transit running.Firstly, the train operation plan is the foundation of the daily transportation arrangement of urban rail transit system. By analyzing and comparing the advantages and disadvantages of different train routing modes and the relation between the train routing modes and the relevant operation arrangements, the essay will start with the research of the operation plan and point out the function of train routing modes in rail transit operation.Secondly, considering the company’s economic benefit and service level, by analyzing the factors and principles in formulating a train routing model, a multi-objective model is established by selecting the thee key elements as the objective function-the train running mileage, the passenger total waiting time and the waste of capacity and setting the assumed condition and the constraint condition, so that the Matlab can be used to work out the solution to the multi-objective model based on TOPSIS.Thirdly, by taking the Chongqing CRT line 6 as the study object and the characteristics of passenger flow of its prediction year of the mainline of CRT line 6 as the basis, through introducing the data of inter-station OD flow、line screen passenger volume、station spacing into the multi-objective model, Matlab is used to work out the best solution in single routing mode,long and short routing mode and connected routing mode.Then make a comparison between the results of the three modes.Finally, based on the long and short routing mode, the relation between parameters and objective function is to be illustrated by the sensitivity analysis of short routing mode and load factor.
