As we know, frame-shear wall structure is arrangement shear walls selectively in frame structure, and belongs to the typical double resistance to lateral force system, under the effect of horizontal loading, if one part of the structure is damaged, then the rest can still provide enough stiffness and bearing capacity. Using the shear walls as the main component to resist lateral force in the structure, not only can provide larger lateral stiffness to structure, but also can make flexible using space, meeting the requirements of architectural function easily. Because the frame-shear wall structure has stronger applicability, which is a kind of normal structure form in architectural design. In actual engineering, for the arrangement of shear walls is on the basis of designers according to the engineering experience of oneself, such arrangement is only focused on the parameters of the structure whether meet the specification requirements, due to many designers do not establish good optimization consciousness, often make the arrangement of shear wall stiffness is too big in structure, its not only affects the seismic performance of the structure, also makes the structure of economic decline.In this paper, we focus on studying the arrangement of shear walls number in the frame-shear wall structure, aiming to find the balance point to the economy between safety, further to determine the reasonable stiffness of shear walls.In paper, we discussed the necessity and importance of determining the shear walls reasonable stiffness, proposed when fortification intensity is higher, and the basic wind pressure is smaller, the horizontal loading is mainly for the effect of earthquake, when fortification intensity is lower, the basic wind pressure is larger, the horizontal loading is mainly for wind loading. According to two kind of the horizontal force, we built up optimization mathematical model respectively, and choosed simple and effective optimization algorithm, using MATLAB method to solve the reasonable stiffness of shear walls.We also came up with when the constraint conditions of the optimization model were much more in this paper, it could be used to distinguish between primary and secondary way to simplify the constraint conditions. In solving the optimization model under the effect of the seismic loading of the reasonable stiffness in frame-shear wall structure, we chosed complex method and random direction method to solve respectively, and compared the practical of the two algorithm, at the same time, it also provided a reference for algorithm in engineering application.Finally, we analyzed the engineering projects, and used the methods in the paper to determine the reasonable stiffness of shear walls, the results showed that the methods were simple and practical, the computational procedure could be used for preliminary design or adjustment of the shear walls stiffness.
