With the continuous development of economy and continuous improvement of science and technology, the defect of the low accuracy of the traditional electric energy meter is being magnified gradually. This text designs an electronic-type electric energy meter with high accuracy to satisfy the modern power grid’s requirement of the accuracy at present.In this design, energy measuring IC: ADE7878 and LM3S8962 are selected together to finish the task which is the accurate measurement of electrical parameter. ADE7878 mainly collects the signal inside the power grid and calculate the electricity, effective value of voltage, active power and reactive power through the powerful DSP function of its built-in function. Inside the ADE7878, second Σ-Δ-type ADC and the digital integrator guarantee the accuracy. The role of LM3S8962 is to conduct manipulation toward ADE7878 through SPI; read the register related to electrical parameter; write the information of phase compensation into the related register. This device has RS485 interface, which is convenient for the upper computer to conduct the telecommunications and guarantees the instant and effective transmission of information.This text firstly elaborates on the development state of electric energy meter at home and abroad, then concludes the task goal of this design and finally states the theory for measuring the electrical parameter. Hardware design and software design are the important parts in this text. Hardware design includes the sampling circuit, ADE7878 peripheral circuit, communication circuit and the part of human-machine exchange. Software design adopts the embedded system which develops fully the powerful function of LM3S8962. In addition, software also adopts the modularized programming method including RS485 communication and program of human-machine exchange interface. In the last two parts of this text, it analyzes the interference phenomenon existing in the actual production and life and injects the anti-interference design in order to be closer to the actual situation. Also the device is conducted the debugging on the hardware and software parts, which further perfects the accuracy of electric energy meter measurement. At last, the experimental circuit is built in the laboratory and the data collected is conducted error analysis.
